Refrain, 2014-15
Refrain is a time-based video work presented here as a 30-second excerpt from a six-minute loop. The piece unfolds through repetition and subtle variation, drawing attention to rhythm, duration, and the meditative qualities of sustained observation while, at the same time, gently referencing the ever present imposition of human order on the landscape.
This work was created in collaboration with Icelandic artist Sigrún Hardardóttir.
